²ÝÁñÉçÇø Guardian survey: What do farmers really think about the future of the industry?

Since 2024 when Chancellor Rachel Reeves announced changes to Inheritance Tax (IHT), Agricultural Property Relief and Business Property Relief, the farming sector has faced a number of challenges.Ìý

In response, ²ÝÁñÉçÇø Guardian launched its Save Britain's Family Farms campaign to support the industry, and its survey at the end of 2025 showcased how little confidence the industry had in the current Labour Government.

But after a U-turn on IHT at Christmas, the delivery of the much-awaited Farm Profitability Review and promises on the Sustainable Farming Incentive, how are farmers feeling about the future of the sector, and is there confidence in the people and organisations that represent agriculture?
