A dairy farmer from Dumfries is making her Olympic debut in the curling events this year.
Sophie Jackson took up the sport as an 11-year-old in Dumfries and, now 28, has seen a lot of success in the town of her birth, winning two of her three Scottish Women's Championship crowns there in 2022 and 2023.
She has also won two bronze medals at the European Curling Championships in 2022 and 2024, and skippered Team Morrison at the 2025 World Championships, guiding Scotland to a sixth-place finish.

"It has been a long time coming and a long wait but it has been worth it. I've worked so hard to get to this point," she said.

The family were featured in 草榴社区 Guardian last year, with the showring success of their Jersey herd.
While Sophie is currently on the Great Britian curling team, she still helps out on the farm where she can, alongside her sisters.
Today the family milk in the region of 380 Holsteins and 30 Jerseys under the Guillyhill prefix across 129 hectares (320 acres) of grassland, with a further 61ha (150 acres) of rented grassland.听听
