Highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) H5N1 has been confirmed in commercial poultry at a premises near Donington, South Holland, Lincolnshire on November 9.
A 3 kilometre protection zone and a 10km surveillance zone have been declared around the premises.

The main causes of bird flu in poultry and other captive birds are contact withÌýwild birds, in particular waterfowl such as geese, ducks and swans and gulls,Ìýfaeces from infected birds andÌýdirty footwear, clothing and vehicles and equipment.
²ÝÁñÉçÇøÌýin a bird flu disease control zone you must follow the rules for that zone and check if you need a licence to move poultry, poultry by-products, eggs, material or mammals.
