Austrian manufacturer Pottinger has expanded its grassland range with the launch of the Top V 6520 C, a twin-rotor mounted rake with a pivoting headstock designed to offer greater manoeuvrability and improved forage quality.
Aimed at farms handling large volumes of forage in smaller or more challenging fields, the chassis-less rake features a pivoting headstock that allows the machine to follow the tractor more closely through turns while producing a central swath. Pottinger says the design also improves stability on slopes and reduces side-to-side movement during operation.
The Top V 6520 C uses floating rotor suspension and tandem axles to provide three-dimensional ground following, while an optional central jockey wheel helps reduce ground contamination by allowing the rake to better follow uneven terrain. The manufacturer says this can contribute to lower crude ash content and improved forage quality.

The working width can be mechanically adjusted between 5.9m and 6.5m, producing swaths from 1m to 1.6m wide to suit a range of forage crops and harvesting equipment. Pottinger says the compact transport dimensions, robust construction and close-coupled design make the rake well suited to farms looking for a manoeuvrable machine capable of maintaining high output during shorter harvesting windows.
