
A pure-bred Texel ram which topped the sale at 3,300gns.
The top three rams by this sire were all out of the first pen of the day, among them the 3,300gns sale leader, which sold to A.N. and A. Jelly, Chorley, with two at 3,200gns selling to B. Jones, Idrigehay, and T.D., M.E. and G.E. Todd, Sedbergh.
Charollais cross Beltex sold to 2,600gns twice, with three quarter Beltex rams selling to 2,400gns twice and 2,200gns. A total of 26 rams sold between 1,500gns and 2,000gns.

Females sold to a £750 high for a pair of Texels, with a further three making £700, and more than 70 sheep selling between £400 and £520.
Topping the ewe section was a Beltex cross at £680, with pure Texels making £600 three times and a strong ewe trade resulting in just 10 selling below the £400 mark.

Gimmer lambs peaked at £650 for a pair of Texels, with a second pair making £520, and 28 lambs selling for more than £300.
