A sheep has been left with life-altering injuries which could lead to the animal being put to sleep due to a dog attack.

North Wales Police Rural Crime Team said the ewe was attacked by a dog on Wednesday (August 13) in the Dolwyddelan area sometime between 4pm and 5.30pm.

LISTEN NOW:

Officers said the animal is still alive and being treated by the affected farmer.

However, police said the ewe may not survive the attack and could be put to sleep.

North Wales Police said despite tirelessly highlighting the 'reality and impact' of livestock worrying, attacks continue to affect farmers and dog owners do not coming forward when incidents take place.

Anyone with further information has been asked to contact 101, quoting reference number C125313.
