Jeremy Clarkson is making small but steady progress in his career as a farmer, according to a Clarkson's Farm fan favourite.

'Cheerful' Charlie Ireland, a land agent who has advised Mr Clarkson on managing Diddly Squat Farm over the course of the popular farming show, said he 'admires' the way the former Grand Tour host is inventive and creative, especially when he is faced with challenges and obstacles on-farm.

Ahead of a brand new series of the show returning to Prime Video on Friday (May 23), Mr Ireland said the broadcaster is still learning and gaining experience as a farmer, but believes his enthusiasm will take him a long way in the sector.

"Every day is a school day [for Jeremy]," the Ceres Rural managing director added.

'There's no beating him down'

With the show just hours away from returning, Mr Ireland has provided a brief summary of what fans of Clarkson's Farm can expect in the new series; with adverse weather conditions having an impact on crop quality at Diddly Squat Farm just a few issues to note.

He added: "It was another challenging year, we thought we had done well, got the barley in early again, but as viewers will see the weather played a big part.
