There was a flying trade for British Blue bulls at Carlisle where a new breed record of 50,000gns was set

British Blue breed record smashed at Carlisle

The sale topper was the overall champion, Solway View Tate, an April 2023-born son of Baherard Overdose out of Solway View Katie, a Solway View Firecracker daughter. Consigned by Kevin Watret, Maulscastle Farming, Annan, and having been reserve male chamipion at the Royal Highland Show, it sold to Coul Estate Partnership, Laggan, Perthshire.

Making 20,000gns was first prize winner, Almeley Tom Grennan, a June 2023-born bull by Drybarrows Cawdale out of Lukeroyal Lovely from G.L. Morgan, Tillington. The buyer was Messrs Kay and Co, Maybole.

Coul Estate Partnership recouped some of their money when selling second prize winner, May 2023-born Coul Blue Thunderflash by Solway View Odin out of Trencrom Pick N'Mix for 18,000gns to Messrs Baillie, Orkney.

Also selling for 18,000gns was the intermediate champion, Harelaw Tennent, a June 2023-born son of Sandyvale Jagerbomb out of Woodend Leonna from Jean MacKay, Kirkmichael, Ayrshire, which was knocked down to Messrs McGarva, Biggar.

Two bulls sold for 15,000gns apiece. The first was June 2023-born Littlebank Theo by Greystoke Noveltee from H.R. and W.J. Maudsley, Settle, which went home with Messrs Hargreaves and Sons, Stoke on Trent.

The other bull to make 15,000gns was the red and white bull, Almeley Tiargo Silva,Ìý a June 2023-born son of Chocolat D'Ochamp from Messsrs Morgan.

It sold to Messrs Mountain, North Rigton, who also paid the top female price of 12,000gns for second prize winner, September 2024-born Drift Ursie, a daughter of Topgun Splash out of Drift Rosie from A.S. Phillips and Sons, Reading.

The female champion, June 2023-born Almeley Taylor Swift, a heifer by Gass Okay out of Almeley Petunia consigned by Messrs Morgan sold for 10,000gns to Messrs Nick, Silsden.

At the same money was first prize winner, Coul Blue Tequilla, a November 2023-born daughter of Solway View Odin out of Solway View Rosie from Coul Estate Partnership which went to Messrs Carr, Newcastle upon Tyne.
