A high standard of calves was seen in the Holstein ring, with Riverdane Artist Hyacinth 听from the Nutsford family, Middlewich, Cheshire, winning the championship title from after qualifying for the Western club.
The champion calf was shown by 听Katy Richardson who works at Riverdane Holsteins.
The January-born calf is out of Riverdane Chief Hyacinth, who herself was a previous champion at Nantwich show. This is the fourth All Breeds All Britain championship title for the Riverdane herd and follows their 听honourable mention at last years' show.
Judge, Andrew Patton, who travelled from Northern Ireland, said: "The line ups across the classes were a great spectacle to promote the Holstein breed. My champion was the most complete calf on display, and I could not pick a hole in her. She delivered both frame and style."
Reserve champion was the Scottish qualifier, Drointon Jordy Crispy Promis, from Grayridge and Drointon, Lanarkshire, and shown by Cullum Gray.
The October 2022-born calf is out of Drointon Apple Crisp Promis, which won the AgriScot red and white championship in 2016 and is part of the 90-cow Drointon herd, which is milked through two robots.
The honourable mention for the Holsteins was awarded to Wolston Denver Vaakje 18 from A. and R. Thomas, Leicester. The September2022-born calf is out of Wolston Alvarez Vaakje 13 which 听produced over 10,000 litres in her first lactation.
Jersey
Following judging stints at UK Dairy Day and the Jersey Island Autumn show, Warren Ferguson from New Zealand also took to the centre of the ring at the calf show to judge the Jersey classes.
He tapped out Blythbridge Chocochip Reagie, shown by Georgia Haines and bred by Colin and Izzy Laird, Peebleshire, as his champion.
The calf is a November 2022-born calf out of Canadian bred cow, Avonlea Chocochip.
Blythbridge breeding dominated the Jersey championship, when another Avonlea Chocochip daughter, this time from Gwen Cochrane, Kimarnock, and shown by Ian Howie claimed the reserve title. This was 听Blythbridge Chocochip Riley, which was born in January.
Honourable mention was awarded to Tyfri Ferdinand Queen Blossom, led by Peighton Robertson. The September 2022-born calf is owned by the Futuredreams herd.
Young breeders talent shines bright at All Britain All Breeds
Dairy Shorthorn
Churchroyd Dairy Shorthorns took the top spot in the breed championship with the December 2022-born heifer, Churchroyd Tulip 2, shown by Molly Collins, Dewsbury. She is out of a home-bred cow which was heifer champion at the Great Yorkshire show and the Dairy Expo in 2022.
Cotonhall Chrome Wild Daisy was tapped out as reserve from the Rob and Kate Kite, Staffordshire, and led by daughter Lilly Kite. This March 2023-born calf, is by a home-bred bull and out of a home-bred first calved heifer.
The Cotonhall herd also took the honourable mention with Cotonhall Cupid Empress, a June 2022-born heifer shown by David Padley.
Ayrshire听
In the Ayrshire ring, Brieryside Hail Pauline 5, from the Young family, Scotland, was awarded the championship title. This November 2022-born calf was purchased from the Brieryside dispersal sale earlier this year and was 听shown at the calf show by Ellis Colwill.
Tapped out as reserve for the second year in a row was Sandyford Ringer Mayflower 2, a May 2022-born calf by Blue-Spruce Ringer, from Evie Tomlinson, Loughborough, and shown by Ifan Wilson.
Beeline Reagan Ladybird took the honourable mention. This March 2022-born calf, was bred by S.N. Bailey, Crewe and was shown by George Zeaton.
Guernsey听
The Guernsey champion and reserve titles were both won 听by the Thomas family, Leicester with calves from their Kimcote herd.
Champion was Kimcote Penney Susan, a June 2022-born calf out of Kimcote Claret Susan 2 which was second in its class at the All Breeds All Britian show in 2021. She was shown by Margret Thomas.
In reserve was Kimcote Penney Violet 4. 听This March 2022-born calf is sired by Springhill JC Penney and was shown by George Thomas.
Greensfield James Lady claimed the honourable mention for the Greenslade family, Cullumpton. The February 2022-born calf is sired by Springhill James Dean and was shown by Jasmine Cligg.

Brown Swiss
The journey from Dumfries was worthwhile for the Lochhead family, who won both the champion and reserve titles in the Brown Swiss ring. Kedar Dreamer Sanchia La Vista won the championship with the January 2022-born calf led out by Hattie Hassall.
Judge, Colin Laird, Peebleshire said: "If this is the future of the Brown Swiss breed, it is in safe hands. The final line up was a real sight."
The reserve, Kedar Calvin T-Shirt, was a March 2023-born heifer shown by Seth Davidson. The Kedar herd also won the herd tidy lines competition.
Rory Dunlop led the honourable mention, Toi Toi Pavlova ET, a March 2023-born calf from Toi Toi Genetics and Simon Dowle, Cheshire.
Champion Friesian was Lismulligan Brandy Lavender 53 from B. Lawson, Fife. Shown by Rory Lawson, this September 2022-born calf is sired by Adams Citizen.
Reserve Champion was Greenway Judd Livvy, from Devonshire breeders L. Rockett and T. Marshall. The January 2023-born calf was shown by Abi Marshall.
The Lismulligan herd also took the honourable mention with a March 2023-born calf, Lismulligan Empress 83, which was shown by Orla Lawson.
