Sale topper was a three-quarter Texel, quarter Beltex shearling ram by Blackjack which sold to J.P. and C.M. Jones, Maesterran Pengoes.

Next, at 4,000gns, was a Texel shearling ram by Dirty Harry which joined the Sinclair family, Crookston.

At the same money was another Blackjack-sired Texels which sold to B. Jones, Idrigehay.

All the top priced females were by Crackerjack headed at 600gns twice. Firstly, by a two-shear pure-bred Texel ewe which went to G. Hargreaves, Lancaster, followed by a Texel shearling selling to H. Huddleston, Snab Green.

A pair of Texel ewes made £580 each to W.J. and V. Case, Ulverston.

Ewe lambs topped at £520 for a Crackerjack daughter which was knocked down to J. Shaw, Mill Brook, with a Garngour Awesome sired ewe lamb making £400 to G.E. Powell, Shrewsbury.

Averages

Shearling rams, £1,106.11; aged ram, £1,470; two and three-shear ewes, £320.11; gimmer shearlings, £303.62; ewe lambs, £190.95.
