A pub made famous for featuring on the long-running TV series Heartbeat has been placed made available for sale.

The Goathland Hotel, near Whitby in North Yorkshire, has gone up for sale on Rightmove for £175,000.

Heartbeat, a police drama series for ITV which was set in the 1960s, often focused on rural and farm life in its episodes.

Brow House Farm in the Scarborough village of Goathland, in the North York Moors, featured as the home of Claude Greengrass in the show.

The public house featured as the Aidensfield Arms in the fictional village of Aidensfield in the series which ran from 1992 to 2010.

In total, the hotel has 12-bedrooms, a bar lounge, ice cream parlour shop, car park and beer garden.
