Foxhill Bandit

The Alford family recouped some of their outlay when selling their best lamb, Foxhill Bandit for 6,500gns. By the privately purchased Logie Durno All Star which was breed champion at Devon County Show and reserve breed champion at Royal Cornwall Show this year and out of a homebred Rockvilla Ferrari daughter, it sold to Peterhead, Aberdeenshire, breeders, E. and E. Duncan, for the Braemuir flock and T. Dalgarno, for the Clackriach flock.

Its pen mate, Foxhill Benadict, then met a 4,600gns bid. Again, by All Star and this time out of a Logie Durno Olympian daughter, it sold to the partnership of David Lewis for his Pembroke flock, Narbeth, and Gareth Lee, Kidwelly, for the Calogale flock.

Next up at 4400gns was another from Messrs Gregory in the form of Edstaston Best Bar One. Carrying a top 1 per cent index of 428 and by the 4000gns Dalby Ancelotti out of a homebred Knockin Shockin daughter, it was knocked down to Graham, Sarah and son, Will Whiting, Liskeard.

Shearling rams

Shearling rams topped at 3,400gns for a son of Boyo Vancouver out of a Logie Durno Jackpot daughter from William and Carole Ingram's Logie Durno flock, Inverurie, which sold to S Mason, Lancaster.
